One of the biggest perks of an NTMA membership is access to events like this one, where you can network with your peers, get information on what’s next for manufacturing, and learn the latest tips on how to run a machine shop.
Today, we’ll answer frequently asked questions about Engage Summit East 2022 so that you know exactly what to expect from this event.
1. Who should attend Engage Summit East 2022?
Modern machine shop owners will undoubtedly benefit from attending Engage Summit East 2022. But the event isn’t just for shop owners. Anyone who holds a managerial position in a shop (e.g., general managers, chief financial officers, operations managers, quality inspectors) will find content relevant to their work.
Although the conference takes place on the East Coast, folks from all over the country are welcome to register!
2. Should multiple people from my shop attend?
If more than one person in your shop wants to attend the conference, you don’t have to draw straws to determine who goes. NTMA has ensured that there will be breakout sessions and speakers catering to various managerial roles in your shop.
Multiple people at your company can also benefit from the networking opportunities that Engage Summit East 2022 offers. When it’s time to decide how many team members to send to the conference, the more, the merrier!
3. I’m new to NTMA. Will I feel left out if I attend the conference?
Being new to NTMA is all the more reason to attend this event. You’d be surprised how many new connections are waiting for you. Even if you don’t know anyone yet, NTMA members are just like you—they work hard and are excited to meet and share their knowledge with other industry professionals.
We used to have a new member session designed to welcome and introduce new members to one another, but it was sparsely attended because when people arrived, they connected with their peers right away without our help.
4. What’s the value of networking with fellow shop owners?
One of the primary reasons we hold conferences is to provide opportunities for networking.
Running a modern machine shop is hard work, and you need a group of like-minded individuals with whom you can discuss challenges, resources, and solutions. Collaborating in this way not only helps shop owners and managers feel less alone and more supported, but it also strengthens the industry as a whole.
5. How will I spend my time at the conference?
Our regional conferences (Engage Summit East and West) are shorter than our national conferences, and we ensure that every minute is jam-packed with valuable activities.
You’ll spend your time learning about the latest manufacturing news and technology, networking with the best in the industry, and eating delicious food!
6. What types of sessions will Engage Summit East 2022 offer?
Engage Summit East 2022 features general sessions delivered to all conference attendees and breakout sessions that take place in smaller groups.
Breakout sessions are more interactive and niche and offer plenty of opportunities for questions. If you have multiple employees attending the conference, you’ll be able to split up and get more out of the sessions.
7. Who are this year’s speakers?
Our speakers will cover a wide range of topics, such as:
- Business development
- Breaking down the walls between manufacturing and quality
- 5-axis machining
- Tax credits you could benefit from
8. How much does the conference cost?
Because this conference is smaller than our national conference, Manufacturing Engage, Engage Summit tickets are one-third of the price, totaling just $395 per NTMA member.
We’ve also arranged for NTMA members to spend no more than $200 per night on their hotel accommodations.
9. What will I walk away with?
Engage Summit East 2022 is sure to be an exciting few days, providing access to subject matter experts you won’t find anywhere else. Attendees can expect to walk away with a clear understanding of the latest industry updates, a vision for the future of manufacturing, and connections that will last a lifetime.
