March 30, 2020
Dear NRL Community,
We have been closely monitoring news and information about the COVID-19, or coronavirus, pandemic.
The National Robotics League is made up of talented and tireless students, educators, mentors and volunteers. Throughout our 11 year history, your health and safety has always been and will always be our top priority.
With that commitment in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the NRL 2020 National Championship, originally scheduled for May 15 – 16.
The California University of Pennsylvania, our planned venue for this year’s national championship competition, has also notified us that the Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education & the Office of the Chancellor are suspending all on-campus events, camps and conferences through this summer. On behalf of NTMA and the NRL, we applaud the passion and hard work that students have already invested this school year to research, design and build their Bots. We also recognize and appreciate of the dedication of the teachers, coaches, mentors and volunteers provided their students with a job-driven, project-based STEM learning experience.
As we endure these unprecedented circumstances together, our mission to engage manufacturing’s next generation through Full Contact Innovation will not waver.
In the meantime, please exercise all precautions and take care of yourselves, your families, your colleagues, and your communities.
We are grateful for your patience, understanding and continued support during this difficult time. And we look forward to getting Bots back in the ring.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 216-264-2828.
