HELPING TO FILL THE SKILLS GAP
NTMA-U
NTMA-U is the centerpiece of NTMA’s Training and Education program. It is a comprehensive Department of Labor (DOL) approved, registered apprenticeship education and training curriculum that utilizes an online platform to deliver an industry-aligned curriculum through instructor-led classes. NTMA-U students who complete a registered apprenticeship receive a certificate of completion, recognized in all 50 states, that enables them to get a Journeyman’s Certificate and sets them on a path to success in the manufacturing sector.
The future of manufacturing is attracting, retaining and training a skilled workforce. NTMA has you covered. Tap into the potential of NTMA-U.
The NTMA-U program was designed for the industry by the industry. The coursework instructs students on applicable skills, familiarizes them with the latest technologies, and emphasizes the information needed for success in today’s industry. This all-substance, no-filler practical approach makes the best use of students’ time.
Training courses can be accessed online anytime from anywhere with an internet connection so individuals can pursue the highest caliber manufacturing industry education while also balancing their other commitments. NTMA-U is self-directed – learners can go at their own pace – but it’s not self- taught. Each course features video content led by an instructor.
The program’s modular structure also allows for coursework to be stacked with seamless integration of introductory courses, pre-apprenticeship training, and registered apprenticeships. For example, students can complete the pre-apprenticeship, which also serves as the first year of a three- or four-year registered apprenticeship.
The NTMA-U coursework is industry specific, but it is not job specific. An individual who completes the curriculum could build a career in a wide range of manufacturing roles. It’s also cost-effective. The entire four-year program costs less than $4,000, a cost that is often covered by supportive employers. This cost includes all necessary textbooks, which can be purchased through NTMA. Click here to see a course catalog.
This program enables change – a veteran can find a new career by applying their experience in the civilian workforce; a single parent can find a new opportunity by taking classes after bedtime; a uniquely abled person can find a new path by learning in a flexible format; and a young person in a detention center can find a new direction by gaining skills for a successful reentry.
