SUMMARY:Robots Born to See: Integrated Machine Vision used to Guide Robots in Manufacturing
DESCRIPTION:Vision guided robots have many advantages including reduced integration cost and improved flexibility.  Vision allows the robot to see the workpiece and make decisions based on what it sees.  In this webinar\, Josh Person with FANUC\, will go over some of the highlights of using machine vision with robots in an automated workcell.   Josh will review some of these questions: \n\nWhat are some advantages of machine vision in an automated workcell?\nWhat is the difference between 2D and 3D vision applications?\nWhen should the applicator use a camera mounted to the robot end of arm tooling and when should the camera be fixed in place off the robot?\nWhat is the difference between integrated robotic vision and smart cameras?\nWhat is the difference between guiding the robot to the part\, part inspection\, or error proofing?

SUMMARY:Breakthroughs in Vision Inspection Technology
DESCRIPTION:The last 10 years has seen an array of new technologies that are changing the way companies inspect and analyze parts.  From job shops to high-volume production shops\, machine shops across all industries have been influenced by breakthroughs in the field of vision inspection\, and new technologies continue to hit the market each month.  \n \nBenefiting from improvements in sub-pixel processing\, artificial intelligence\, machine learning\, as well as innovations in combining these technologies\, the ability to inspect parts during and after production has advanced in ways that seemed like science-fiction only 10 years ago. \n \nJoin Michael Vincent\, Sr. Product Manager with Keyence Corporation of America\, for a review of some of the most interesting new technology releases as he presents on innovations for in-machine\, shop floor\, and even handheld 3D inspection systems.

SUMMARY:POSTPONED - Just Because You “CAN” 3D Print Something\, Doesn’t Mean You “SHOULD”
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: This event has been temporarily POSTPONED – a new date will be announced soon. \nWith the widespread use of very clever marketing\, it would seem that 3D printing can solve all of your problems…The reality of industrial Additive Manufacturing (3D printing for real parts) is that learning how to leverage any new technology requires investment in people\, equipment and new tools. \nUnderstanding the levers that make 3D printing valuable is the key to a successful ROI. Let’s dive into the reality of 3D printing. \n \nPRESENTER: Tim Bell is the Head of the CoC for Additive Manufacturing for Siemens Digital Industries USA and is a seasoned Manufacturing veteran and Cincinnati Ohio native. \nHe has spent more than 35 years in manufacturing and was trained as a Journeymen Toolmaker in the 1980’s. He spent the next 20 years as a machinist\, programmer\, designer\, and entrepreneur of small contract manufacturing companies. The last 15 plus years have been focused on Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) of components and assemblies supporting the aerospace\, defense\, and medical industries. \nHe has successfully launched four US companies\, two of which were foreign owned/ joint ventures\, taking them from ground zero to profitability and becoming leaders in their respective fields.

DESCRIPTION:John Christly\, Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer of NTMA Affinity Partner Core Business Solutions\, walks you through the new CMMC requirement for companies that have contracts with the Department of Defense or those that are in the Defense Industrial Base/Supply Chain. \nWhat is CMMC? What is CUI? Does it apply to me\, and if yes\, at what level? A discussion will be held about steps you can take to get prepared for certification. \n \nJohn Christly is a seasoned Information Technology\, Cybersecurity\, and Compliance executive\, as well as a Military Veteran with experience both domestically and internationally. As a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and an MSI Senior Fellow\, he brings decades of cybersecurity and compliance.
